LOCANOË, A CANOE RENTAL FIRM IN THE TARN GORGES
A FAMILY BUSINESS
Locanoë was established in 1978. This small business was one of the pioneers of canoe kayak hire in the Tarn Gorges, when tourism was just beginning to really develop in the region.
It all started when Anne-Marie and Didier(their parents !), owners of the campsite Le Site in Castelbouc, decided to buy a canoe to travel along the Tarn for their own leisure and to take full advantage of this beautiful region. At this time canoes were made from fibreglass, made from a mold and weren’t very common.
So, seeing that envious tourists wanted to rent their canoe … The idea caught on and they decided to have 2 made, then 4 and so on, until they became an acknowledged canoe rental business in the Tarn Gorges with 2 sales outlets : Castelbouc and Sainte Enimie.
Today, Erika and Brice have acquired the family business and welcome you in all simplicity and conviviality so that you can discover and share this wonderful territory. These two natives will share their love of their homeland with you.

An authentic, small family campsite, in a green setting where nature is preserved, at the foot of Castelbouc castle.
